League Committees At Work

League Committees are meeting regularly. The committees are a terrific way to play an active role in your Municipal League, while learning about the inner workings of local government.

Seattle Governance: Recent meetings featured speakers from the Seattle Budget Office and Seattle City Light. The next meeting, on water use, is February 28th at 12:30 p.m. in the law offices of Davis Wright Tremaine on the 26th Floor of the Century Square Building, 1504 4th Avenue. Chair: Lucy Steers

King County Governance: Next meeting is on March 1st, at the Muni League Conference Room, 810 Third Avenue, Room 224 in Seattle. Join us for a closer look at King County government. Chair: Deb Dollard

Bellevue/Suburban Cities Governance: What is going on in cities and towns around the county? What issues are important to them? What's their relationship with county government? Contact the League office or visit the web page for information on the next meeting date. Chair: Dave Russell

Issues Committee: See the committee's reports on Primary Elections and the Sound Transit update in this issue. Next meeting is on February 28 at 12:30 p.m. at the Muni League Conference Room, 810 Third Avenue, Room 224 in Seattle with a speaker on Sound Transit. Chair: Jocelyn Marchisio

Communications Committee: Volunteer from home by putting your reporting, editing or web design skills to work on this very active committee maintains the web site, publishes the Muni News, and gets the word out on League activities. Call the office for the March meeting time and location. Chair: Lonnie Lusardo
