League Activists Needed
League Chairman, Tom Albro

Dear Members and Friends,

As you will see in this issue, the Municipal League is in full swing. As a matter of fact, so much is going on that we want and need you to get involved. One current project is the re-establishing of three member based standing committees, which will focus on governmental affairs for Seattle, Bellevue and suburban cities, and King County. Historically, this has been one of the most vibrant and influential activities of the League. We are fortunate to have outstanding Chairs for each of these committees. All we need is you. If you are interested in participating, contact the League by phone at (206) 622-8333, by email at chairperson@munileague.org , or simply attend one of the meetings (see the website for updated meeting times and dates).

The Board Nominations Committee is proud to present its slate of nominees for Board terms beginning in January of 2001. Nominees are listed on page 8. Members of the League will have the opportunity to vote next month.

November 7th is one of the most important dates in the new millennium. To assist you on Election Day, we have provided a recap of League ratings in this issue. Casting your vote will make a difference, so be sure to vote early. Then join us for election night festivities at Town Hall. For political junkies like me, this is a must do!
