The Board Welcomes New Muni League Trustees
The Board of Trustees added nine new members in July. These new trustees
bring with them a broad range of expertise to enhance the League’s programs.
Putnam Barber is President of the Evergreen Society and editor of the
Internet Nonprofit Center. He is a columnist for the Chronicle of Philanthropy
and Advancing Philanthropy. He presently serves the League as Chair of the
Candidates Evaluation Committee.
Doreen Cato is currently Executive Director at First Place, a
nonprofit agency focused on assisting families in transition and providing
therapeutic programs for children. Ms. Cato also serves as chair of the King
County Housing Authority board of Commissioners and serves on the Washington
State Advisory Council for Homelessness.
Deborah Dollard is Program director for the 757 Airplane Customer
Services Division at the Boeing Company. Ms. Dollard is committed to civic
leadership and has served on a number of church and school boards. She recently
completed the Leadership Tomorrow program.
Ron Jenkins is an executive with March of Dimes. He has an extensive
background in youth programs that included the Boys & Girls club, YMCA and
Youth Fair Chance, and the Chicken Soup Brigade.
Lonnie Lusardo is the owner of The Diversity Collaborative, a
management development firm specializing in strategic diversity management and
diversity training. Mr. Lusardo serves on the Board of Directors of Leadership
Tomorrow. He presently serves as the Chair of the Muni League’s Northwest
Candidate Evaluation Committee.
Karen Marshall is the Human Service Manager for the City of Renton.
Ms. Marshall is Chair of the Renton Salvation Army Advisory Committee and
started the Renton Domestic Violence task force.
G. Richard Meyer is a partner and director of quality assurance at
Callison Architecture. He is currently serving on the Executive Committee of the
Professional’s Advisory Council for the University of Washington’s
Department of Architecture.
Phillip Thompson is Of Counsel in the Bellevue Office of Perkins Coie
LLP. He focuses his law practice in the area of Labor and Employment.
Tom Tierney is the Chief Administrative Officer/Chief Financial
officer for the Port of Seattle. Prior to joining the Port, Mr. Tierney was a
senior administrator for the City of Seattle and directed Seattle’s Office of
Management and Planning.
The term of office is three years. The League will benefit greatly from
the contributions of these new trustees.
