The Municipal League of King County, by
contrast, found it easier to recruit volunteers to interview and rate candidates
because interview committees trained and began their work before the Fourth of
July, said league Chairman Bruce Carter.
There was a downside for the Municipal
League, though. The only pre-primary candidates forum — a Medina luncheon during
Seafair week — was canceled for lack of interest.
"I guess the opportunity to hear candidates
doesn't compete very well with the Blue Angels," Carter said.
