SECTION III

In this section, we are seeking responses that reflect the four ratings criteria: involvement, effectiveness, character, and knowledge.  These are defined as follows:

1.      In a page or less, why are you running for this office?  (Note: the interview committee will be given a copy of this statement before your interview; at the beginning of your interview you will have the opportunity to expand on this statement in any way you wish.)

I am running for office to provide voters with a Libertarian alternative to help end domination of the elections by the two major parties that usually only offer voters the choice of picking whoever they determine is the "lessor of two evils".  I also want to help educate voters as to what Libertarianism is, by providing a campaign statement that is primarily educational for the voters' pamphlet.  I don't really expect to win, but the only way that the Libertarian Party can grow is by offering candidates at the "grass roots" level, so I am offering myself.

2.      Describe your most important personal characteristics or traits as they relate to the office you seek.

I always seek a logical solution to problems that are faced.

3.      Please describe in sufficient detail, one to three accomplishments or contributions of which you are most proud.  These examples should illustrate effective skills and capabilities you think apply to the office you are seeking.  These accomplishments may have occurred at any time in your personal, professional, or public life.

I am proud of my academic success in obtaining a Master's Degree in Aeronautics & Astronautics.  As a working engineer, I obtained my Professional Aeronautical Engineer license.  Later when I was working on the T-45 program, I found a solution to a problem that occured in flight test and helped to get it tested and approved by Washington, DC personel.

4.      Please list or describe your current and past activities in the community in which you have acquired skills that relate to the office you seek.  Include your role in the activity and the year(s) in which you were involved.  Involvement consists of many areas such as family, neighborhood, community, employment, or public life.

I am not active in the community.

  1. Please describe the duties of the office you seek.  Which are the most important duties and why?

The duties of the office I seek are to seek input from constituents, and to work to solve problems that concern them, that can be solved on the state government level.
