The Civic Awards event features a silent auction to raise funds for the Municipal League
Foundation civic education work and ticket sales fund the League’s candidate evaluation
program. As part of candidate evaluation program, citizens research candidates for public
office, conduct extensive group interviews and rate the candidates' suitability for
government based on a series of non-partisan criteria: standards of Involvement, Effectiveness,
Character, and Knowledge. The process has been refined over the past 90 years and results in
candidate evaluation reports to help voters make wise choices of candidates to represent them.
